St. Benedict’s College Unveils Cutting-Edge STEM Center with XFly 1.0

St. Benedict’s College, Colombo, marked a historic milestone with the grand unveiling of its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Center on 17th January 2025. This visionary initiative aims to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers, equipping students with hands-on experience in emerging technologies.

The event was graced by a distinguished lineup of guests, including Prof. Chrishantha Abeysena, Minister of Science and Technology, Rev. Dr. Pubudu Rajapaksha FSC, Director of St. Benedict’s College, along with Rev. Fathers and Brothers. Mr. Felix Dias, Mr. Ranjith Dediwalage (consultant for 21st-century learning), and several esteemed old boys including Mr. Gratien Fernando, Mr. Rohan De Silva, and Mr. Roshan Samarathunga also joined the celebration. Representatives from the Welfare, OBU, DF, parents, teachers, and students contributed to making the event a memorable success.

As part of this initiative, St. Benedict’s College has selected the XFly 1.0 Nano Drone Platform to integrate drone-based STEM education into the curriculum. This step aligns with global trends, offering students practical experience in robotics & programming.
